How this affects what we recommend — and what it does not
- Rankings are decided before links are added. Products are shortlisted and scored against our published checklist. The affiliate link is attached afterwards, to whatever the process put first.
- Commission rates play no part in scoring or ordering. We do not compare what different products pay and we do not rank by payout.
- We do not display prices. Partly because Amazon pricing changes constantly, and partly because it removes any temptation to weight a recommendation by its value to us.
- We are willing to recommend nothing. If the honest conclusion in a category is “none of these are worth it yet”, that is what the page will say.
- Nobody can buy a placement. We do not accept payment for inclusion, position, scores, sponsored posts or link insertions. See our editorial policy.

Compensation is never a substitute for judgement
